An indulgent nose smells like warm baked goods, with vanilla, clove, cardamom, cookie crust and dried cherries. The palate is more like a cardamom bun studded with more dried, dense and sweet berries and washed down with an espresso. Score - 94. (Danielle Callegari, Wine Enthusiast, April 1, 2024)
Black licorice, black pepper and meat aromas. Complex and full-bodied, with velvety tannins and chocolate, meat and fruit character. Polished and beautiful. Goes on and on. Like a pretty single-cru C么te-R么tie. Best after 2010. Score - 93. (winespectator.com, Oct. 31, 2009)
This is a very sleek and racy wine with lots of stone, white-pepper and fresh-rosemary character. Then it takes off with dried ripe fruits such as currants and blueberries. Dark chocolate, too. This a real mouthful yet remains agile and powerful. Linear and long finish. Great precision. Best ever from Guado al Tasso? Score - 97. (jamessuckling.com, Nov. 9, 2016)
The 2018 Barolo Cerretta is one of the racier wines I have tasted from Prunotto in a very long time. A Barolo of stature, the Cerretta possesses superb depth and intensity, both rare in this vintage, all while retaining a classic feel. Sweet red cherry, kirsch, blood orange, mint, cinnamon and rose petal are some of the many notes that grace this pliant, savory Barolo. Drinking window: 2023-2033. Score - 93. (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, Oct. 18, 2022)
A supple, elegant red highlighted by bright cherry, black currant, violet, tobacco, iron and oak spice aromas and flavors. Though fluid and seemingly approachable now, this is well-structured and shows the balance to age. Fine length. Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2025 through 2042. Ranked #5 in Wine Spectator's Top 100 Wines of 2022. Collectible. Score - 96. (Bruce Sanderson, winespectator.com, Oct. 31, 2022)

Forest floor, new leather, eucalyptus and dried herb aromas lead the nose while the structured, polished palate offers crushed Marasca cherry, pomegranate, white pepper and licorice flavors. Firm, refined tannins provide elegant support. Drink 2020-2030. Score - 95. (Kerin O'Keefe, Wine Enthusiast, Oct. 1, 2017)
Violets and lavender with dark fruit and hints of dark chocolate. Sophisticated nose. Medium-bodied with fine tannin structure that gives this finesse and beauty. It's very long and goes on for minutes. Precision. 68% sangiovese with the rest in cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon. Drinkable but better in three or four years. Score - 97. (jamessuckling.com, July 24, 2023)
Clean, concentrated and complex expression here, with a high degree of ripeness moving into the blueberry fruit spectrum. The palate is fullish, juicy, concentrated and firm, with lots of savoury, meaty, beef bouillon flavours and decent length. Correct example from the traditional side. Score - 91. (John Szabo, MS, winealign.com, Feb. 26, 2014)
Fresh and harmonious, with a frame of fine-grained tannins creating plush texture for concentrated flavors of ripe black cherry, dried sage leaf, iron and ground anise and white pepper, which echo on the long, sculpted finish. Drink now through 2033. Score - 92. (Alison Napjus, winespectator.com, July 31, 2023)
