McLaren Vale's maritime climate encourages slow, even ripening that produces impressive depth of flavour without sacrificing balance. This Shiraz offers complex plum, blackberry, tobacco, spice, and McLaren Vale's signature chocolatey core. Pair with slow-cooked meats or dark chocolate.
Brings together two varieties that are relaxed and comfortable in each other's company. It's from the Fleurieu Peninsula and displays aromas of cherry, subtle bay leaf and a little fresh mint. The palate retains its firm thread with fine tannins and lightly applied oak sitting perfectly. Has a delightfully friendly mouth feel with the structure and weight to suit a range of meat or pasta dishes. Drink by: 2025-2032. Score - 92. (Ray Jordan, winepilot.com, March 2025)
... Dark maroon, the nose is immediately exciting. Lush blackberries (so the brief filled), coffee beans, cigar box notes, spices, chocolate and dark satsuma plums. Good intensity on the palate which travels the length which is deceptively long with very fine tannins. This is a brilliant warmer climate Cabernet and will drink well for ten years easily. Love it.
