McLaren Vale's maritime climate encourages slow, even ripening that produces impressive depth of flavour without sacrificing balance. This Shiraz offers complex plum, blackberry, tobacco, spice, and McLaren Vale's signature chocolatey core. Pair with slow-cooked meats or dark chocolate.
Brings together two varieties that are relaxed and comfortable in each other's company. It's from the Fleurieu Peninsula and displays aromas of cherry, subtle bay leaf and a little fresh mint. The palate retains its firm thread with fine tannins and lightly applied oak sitting perfectly. Has a delightfully friendly mouth feel with the structure and weight to suit a range of meat or pasta dishes. Drink by: 2025-2032. Score - 92. (Ray Jordan, winepilot.com, March 2025)
... Dark maroon, the nose is immediately exciting. Lush blackberries (so the brief filled), coffee beans, cigar box notes, spices, chocolate and dark satsuma plums. Good intensity on the palate which travels the length which is deceptively long with very fine tannins. This is a brilliant warmer climate Cabernet and will drink well for ten years easily. Love it. Drink by: 2023-2033. Score - 95. (Ken Gargett, winepilot.com, March 24, 2023)
Pristine and delicately lifted, with notes of green pear, crunchy apple, lemon peel, and white floral nuances, leading to a mouth-watering palate that is juicy and lively. Finely expressed with a lengthy, elegant finish. At its best: now to 2028. Score - 92. (Sam Kim, wineorbit.co.nz, Feb. 2025)
Bright emerald straw color. Aromas and flavors of kiwi and lime, under ripe star fruit, basil and bell pepper, and gooseberry with a silky, dry light-to-medium body and an engaging, carefree finish imparting notes of kiwi, lime, starfruit, and white flowers. Crisp and refreshing with a lovely kiwi note from start to finish; an easy and versatile food pairing aperitif wine. Exceptional. Best Buy. Score - 92. (tastings.com, Sept. 12, 2024)
A totally unique, mineral-driven rose that offers lovely fresh fruit and a yummy salinity that is just so compelling. Easy and sea-breezy. Score - 90. (Devin Parr, Critics Challenge International Wine & Spirits Competition, 2024)
Ruby black color. Aromas and flavors of blackberry, eucalyptus, rosemary and white pepper, and tea with a velvety, lively, dry medium body and a warming, interesting, medium-length finish that exhibits nuances of blackberry, leather and white pepper, menthol, and red and black cherry with herbs with crunchy, chewy tannins and light oak flavor. A big Shiraz that stays in balance and doesn't become heavy while still showing good complexity; a natural pairing for rare steak or herb crusted lamb. Exceptional. Score - 91. This is sourced from McLaren Vale. It is a totally captivating and quite beautiful Grenache loaded with all the seductive goodies you expect from this variety. The bouquet reveals a rose petal and strawberry, blueberry thing contributing to the exotic perfumes. It's a wine that relies on the beautiful fruit characters, so only a smidgen of oak edges in. Super example of the variety. Drink by: 2023-2029. Score - 94. (Ray Jordan, winepilot.com, Sept. 2023)
