Classic Sancerre precision shapes this Sauvignon Blanc, with lime, grapefruit, gooseberry and green apple riding over chalk, flint and wet stone. The palate is crisp, clean and saline, yet not thin. It shines with goat cheese, shellfish, beurre blanc or herb-driven dishes.
This is always an engaging, well-crafted wine bursting with apple, citrus, spice, asparagus and mineral elevated by a zesty, driving acidity. A delightful match for goat cheese or herbed chicken breast.
This Pinot Noir-based rosé is sourced from flinty soils and offers a buoyant, quite elegant experience. There's plenty of lifted fruit, with strawberry and red berry prominently featured along with Sancerre's unmistakable mineral character. An exuberant rosé that will evolve for another two years but is calling out to be enjoyed tonight with grilled shrimp, salmon, or a charcuterie board.
The conditions and soils that give rise to this region's renowned Sauvignon Blanc wines are also ideal for obtaining elegant Pinot Noir. This floral, intense wine shows sour cherry, red plum, earth and spice. It's really hitting its stride and will continue to evolve for another 3-4 years, if not a touch more.
Half of the fermentation and aging of this wine was in wood, giving warmth and richness to the red cherry fruits and gentle tannins. The wine is worth aging over the medium term. Drink from 2024. Score - 89. (Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, April 1, 2023)
