The 2023 Cuvée Marnes et Caillottes is round, full and has a sense of weight. Regarding aromatics, it's on the shy side with citrus and elderflower, but this is a wine of texture, not flamboyant flavor. The chalky mother rock provides a delicate powdery veil and line. Drinking window: 2024-2028. Score - 89. (Rebecca Gibb, MW, vinous.com, Aug. 6, 2024)
100% Sauvignon Blanc. A delectable evolution for the senses with lime marmalade, fine herbals and savoury nut characters on the nose and a lush acidity and sumptuously textured palate. Long and impressive. Score - 96. (Decanter World Wine Awards, 2024)
This is always an engaging, well-crafted wine bursting with apple, citrus, spice, asparagus and mineral elevated by a zesty, driving acidity. A delightful match for goat cheese or herbed chicken breast.
100% Sauvignon Blanc. Opulent baked apple and yellow plum aromatics with a rich, crème pâtissière texture and a racy acidity; intriguing and long. Score - 91. (Decanter World Wine Awards, 2023)
This Pinot Noir-based rosé is sourced from flinty soils and offers a buoyant, quite elegant experience. There's plenty of lifted fruit, with strawberry and red berry prominently featured along with Sancerre's unmistakable mineral character. An exuberant rosé that will evolve for another two years but is calling out to be enjoyed tonight with grilled shrimp, salmon, or a charcuterie board.
Half of the fermentation and aging of this wine was in wood, giving warmth and richness to the red cherry fruits and gentle tannins. The wine is worth aging over the medium term. Drink from 2024. Score - 89. (Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, April 1, 2023)
The conditions and soils that give rise to this region's renowned Sauvignon Blanc wines are also ideal for obtaining elegant Pinot Noir. This floral, intense wine shows sour cherry, red plum, earth and spice. It's really hitting its stride and will continue to evolve for another 3-4 years, if not a touch more.
