This is a blend of 49% Merlot, 24% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. The wine was fermented with extended maceration in French oak and concrete tanks. It was aged 19 months in French oak. The wine begins with appealing aromas of cassis, spice and dark cherry. The long and silky tannins support flavours of dark fruits with a hint of chocolate. The finish is persistent. A tour de force! Score - 100. (johnschreiner.blogspot.com, Sept. 18, 2024)
Part of Mission Hill's top tier Legacy Series, Quatrain is a very ripe, powerful dense and delicious blend based on syrah, with merlot and the cab brothers - franc and sauv. The nose is very expressive with plummy/black cherry fruit, violet, pepper, cedar and wood spice. It is full bodied, open knit, dense and enveloping with considerable sandy tannin. A big rich cuddly yet well structured red for the cellar. The length is excellent. best 2028 well into the mid -30s. Tasted Oct 2024 Score - 93. (David Lawrason, winealign.com)
21% Merlot, 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc. Roasted nuts undertones framed by wild anise, green peppercorn and ripe fruit aromas. Big tannins on the palate. [This will drink through 2030+.] Score - 90. (Decanter World Wine Awards, 2024)
Showing lovely restraint and elegance, the 2021 Perpetua hints at popcorn and reductive flinty notes then makes way for fresh white peach and hazelnut. The palate is pure fruited with discreet green apple balancing out bolder yellow plum. It builds in textural complexity from lees and well-integrated oak. Rather than a caricature, this is unforced and sincere yet not without power and length. [Gold Medal winner at the 2023 National Wine Awards of Canada.] Score - 92. (Michaela Morris, winealign.com)
The 2022 growing season in the Okanagan Valley began with a late, cool spring followed by a hot summer and a long, warm autumn. This blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Merlot has translated 2022 into bold, vibrant black fruit, cassis and anise tones, with great structure and complex, integrated spice and oak notes. A wine for prime rib.
Crisp, forward, clean and tidy for pinot gris that not only serves up a sense of place, but does so with distinction. Love the fruit and herb crunch, the lime squeeze and zesty spicing. Great liveliness and thirst quenching style. Bravo. Drink 2024-2026. Tasted July 2024. Score - 91. (Michael Godel, winealign.com)
A merging of two prominent Okanagan Valley winemaking families, CedarCreek has become one of the most trusted and recognizable names in BC winemaking. Blending grapes from the cool, high-elevation Desert Ridge and sun-soaked Haynes Creek vineyards results in a fruity wine with balancing acidity and hints of baking spice. Pour it tonight with braised beef or cellar for another five years.
Nice brightness here with juicy lemony fruit and a nice acid line. Lovely fruit presence which makes this so appealing, finishing with some stony mineral notes. Score - 91. (Jamie Goode, winealign.com)
