Part of Mission Hill's top tier Legacy Series, Quatrain is a very ripe, powerful dense and delicious blend based on syrah, with merlot and the cab brothers - franc and sauv. The nose is very expressive with plummy/black cherry fruit, violet, pepper, cedar and wood spice. It is full bodied, open knit, dense and enveloping with considerable sandy tannin. A big rich cuddly yet well structured red for the cellar. The length is excellent. best 2028 well into the mid -30s. Tasted Oct 2024 Score - 93. (David Lawrason, winealign.com)
Showing lovely restraint and elegance, the 2021 Perpetua hints at popcorn and reductive flinty notes then makes way for fresh white peach and hazelnut. The palate is pure fruited with discreet green apple balancing out bolder yellow plum. It builds in textural complexity from lees and well-integrated oak. Rather than a caricature, this is unforced and sincere yet not without power and length. [Gold Medal winner at the 2023 National Wine Awards of Canada.] Score - 92. (Michaela Morris, winealign.com)
44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc. Ripe berries, sweet oak and dried herbs perfume the nose. The palate is deeper, with fig, cocoa, black plum and coffee. Score - 92. (Decanter World Wine Awards, 2025)
A sleek, juicy merlot, well-poised with fine chalky tannins and a sense of restraint. Red cherry and ripe plum mingle with gentle spice and well-balanced acidity. Mid-weight with effortless charm that should continue to unveil further layers over the next 2-4 years. Tidy and textured with memorable length. Tasted September 2025. Score - 91. (Sara d'Amato, winealign.com)
A little reserved at first, it hints at grilled stonefruit, lemon curd and toasted nuts. There is a real harmony of fruit and tension on the palate that is quite charming. A perfectly ripe mid palate, restrained oak presence and solid length confirm its quality and finesse. Highly drinkable yet not unrefined. Score - 91. (Brent Muller, winealign.com)
