A biodynamic orange wine made with a blend of grape varietals spontaneously fermented, aged in wood and bottled without fining or filtering. Slightly hazy with a golden hue. The nose is fruit-driven with notes of apples and marigolds. Bold citrus fruit with grippy acidity on the palate and a firm salty note on the finish.
Ripe red apple, dried orange peel and sundried hay come together and make for a most resonant, appetizing nose. The palate has a gorgeously creamy, smooth texture, like melting, ripe red-apple flesh, that is outlined by the soaring purity of citrus oil. What a wonderfully concentrated, textured and individual wine. What effortless balance, what smooth, balm-like yet fresh joy. Drink by 2050. Score - 97. This is a very fragrant riesling with classic honey, beeswax, linden blossom, a hint of petrol and flint from the stony soils of the Kamptal in the upper Danube. It is medium weight and quite rich and smooth, yet there is a great seam of acidity and minerality. Almost spritzed, with some bitterness on the finish. Excellent length and great value. Notes of chalky earth and wet moss immediately lend resonance and wild freshness on nose. On the palate, several elements come alive. At first a bright, zesty notion of citrus and apple peel freshness, then a beautifully textured mouthfeel that is mouthwatering and juicy, followed by gorgeous Mirabelle fruit and a savory note reminiscent of peppery, salty miso paste.
