A blend of fruit sourced from multiple Barossa sub-regions provides a luscious meld, with the comforting embrace of rich red berries carrying an earthy swagger, complemented by lively mulberries and blackberries, piqued by a purple perfume of violets and lavender. The expansive, luxurious mid-palate is all about relaxing in the comfort zone, with supple textures framed by subtle oak, clipped black tea tannins and a pinch of black pepper. This wine has an impressive nose, featuring aromas of dark berries, rich flowers, and mixed spices. On the palate, it offers succulent fruit flavours with excellent weight, complemented by a smooth texture and polished tannins. Fresh and vibrant with luscious aromas of dark cherries, blood plums, dried herbs and blackcurrants. The palate is medium- to full-bodied with finely integrated tannins and bright acidity, giving generous notes of mulberries, mocha, ferric earth and violets. I've written before how I like the 2024 Eden Valley rieslings. They are perhaps not as aromatically punchy as the norm but they are stony-pure with that familiar Christmas lily volume just turned down a notch. But that focused line, eh?!
