This is surprisingly youthful for an eight year old, but then Douro reds do have this capability for longevity. It has real bloom with all kinds of perfumed lilac/peony florality, sweet plum, light spice and vanillin. It is very bright, tidy and brisk, with crusty tannin and a mineral finish. This will live a long time but it is so well manicured now that I wouldn't hesitate to open it. The length is excellent. Tasted October 2025. Score - 92. (David Lawrason, winealign.com)
This wonderfully eclectic wine is a blend of Rabigato, Viosinho and Códega do Larinho sourced from estate vineyards planted in 2005. It's sleek and vibrant, with plenty of citrus and mineral along with subtle floral and French-oak vanilla notes. Perfect for seafood, roast chicken or pork.
The Quadrus Reserva is grown and crafted in Portugal by Toronto-born brothers Tony and Mario Amaro of the famed Opus Restaurant. Vines for this wine are grown 650 metres above sea level in a terraced vineyard rich in schist. This lovely red is already mature and ready to enjoy, showing notes of red plum, beetroot, and dried herbs, with a touch of vanilla.
