This wine is made from 100% Saperavi: a late-ripening grape and one of the few whose pulp and flesh, as well as its skin, are red. Matured 12 months in oak, it's balanced, tangy and spicy, with red and black fruit. Try it with a hearty stew.
The Alazani Valley is a subregion of Kakheti and has a winemaking history dating back nearly 8,000 years. Slightly warmer than the region at large, the Alazani Valley produces very ripe fruit perfect for crafting semi-sweet wines such as this one, which is made from the indigenous Rkatsiteli variety. It offers a floral nose, with tropical fruit, mango, orange and honey notes on the palate.
