... deeply coloured, purple-hued saperavi showing a billowing, almost perfumed nose of lilac, black cherry/blackberry jam, tea and light spice. It pours full, soft, medium sweet and thick. Not quite syrupy, but there is a ton of fruit here. Tannins are soft, the flavour depth is very good to excellent. Chill lightly. Tasted Oct. 2024. Score - 89. (David Lawrason, winealign.com)
This wine is made from 100% Saperavi: a late-ripening grape and one of the few whose pulp and flesh, as well as its skin, are red. Matured 12 months in oak, it's balanced, tangy and spicy, with red and black fruit. Try it with a hearty stew.
