Dark olives, cracked pepper, sage and underbrush. The palate has a round texture with voluminous, persistent blue fruit character, polished tannins and a well-defined compact finish. Drink or hold. Score - 92. (Jacobo Garcia-Andrade Llamas, jamessuckling.com, Nov. 14, 2024)
Wonderfully ripe with excellent varietal clarity, the wine shows blackcurrant, cigar, clove and cedar characters on the nose. It's mouthfilling and generously textured on the palate, delivering excellent weight and persistency, beautifully framed by chalky tannins. Robust and delectably appealing. At its best: now to 2036. Score - 94. (Sam Kim, wineorbit.co.nz, Sept. 2024)
Opulent and gorgeously complex, the perfumed bouquet shows dark fruit richness, cake spice, toasty oak and dark chocolate characters, leading to a concentrated palate offering excellent depth and plush texture. Tannins are polished and beautifully infused, making it velvety and deliciously appealing. At its best: now to 2037. Score - 94. (Sam Kim, wineorbit.co.nz, Sept. 2024)
A bold, generous GSM that demonstrates the undeniable certainty of dark fruit, red berry, pepper, oak spice and brambly earth that has made the Barossa so immensely popular. A balanced, poised, powerful wine with lifted floral and lithe mint tones. Drink this through 2028+ alongside mushroom burgers, ribs, or rosemary herbed chicken.[Melbourne International Wine Competition did not include a tasting note.] Score - 96. (Melbourne International Wine Competition, 2025)
