Alpha One is selected from the top 17 barrels of the harvest, representing the best of the vintage. The 2017 vintage is made from Merlot and Tannat grapes and aged 36 months in French oak barrels. Intense aromas of dark fruit, tobacco and spice with rich flavours of black cherry, vanilla, cedar and spice on the palate.
Bright rose colour. A rich and fruity expression with aromas of rose petals, strawberries and peach. The mouthfeel is full, crisp and well-balanced with fresh berries and floral notes, finishing with good length and spiciness. This bright rosΓ© pairs well with stuffed tomatoes and peppers, salmon, Thai and Japanese cuisine.
Light yellow in colour, with greenish tints, lively aromas suggest gooseberry, passion fruit, melon and lychee fruit with hints of honeysuckle. Round and balance on the palate with plenty of finesse and structure. Refreshing with a rich texture and a long and persistent finish. A great accompaniment for grilled seafood.
The SMX blend is made up of 60% Syrah, 20% Merlot and 20% Xinomavro grapes. Deep ruby in colour with powerful aromas of sweet cherry, candied plum and toasted vanillin oak. Full-bodied, deep and dark fruit flavours with a peppery oak spice note. Strong tannins are supported by balanced acid and depth of fruit.
100% Malagouzia. Crisp and elegant aromatics of white tea, peaches & nectarines linger with fresh layers of limestone salinity, basil and herbs. Score - 91. (Decanter World Wine Awards, 2025)
The old-vine Xinomavro grapes for this reserve are vinified and aged in French oak casks for 24 months. Complex aromas reveal notes of red berries, cherries, sun-dried tomatoes, licorice and spice. It's full-bodied, with rich fruit, herbal, and oak notes, balanced by velvety tannins and a long finish. Pair with roast lamb.
Assyrtiko grapes from a single block are vinified with skin contact, fermented in stainless steel, and then rest on their lees for several months. Intense aromas reveal citrus and stone fruits, accompanied by floral notes. The palate is rich and flavorful with a long, persistent finish. Pairs well with fish and white meats.
Greek Malagouzia shows peach, melon, pear, lemon, grapefruit and lychee in a fragrant, easygoing package. A touch of honey and mineral salinity adds interest, while refreshing acidity keeps the finish clean beside cheese plates, seafood, risotto or lightly spiced curries.
Dried roses, cranberries, licorice and lemon rind on the nose, followed by a medium-bodied, elegant and vibrant palate. Very sleek tannins. Vegan. Drink now or hold [through end of decade+]. Score - 92. (Claire Nesbitt, jamessuckling.com, Dec. 17, 2024)
