A bright, fruity wine with pristine red cherries, a whiff of flowers and smoky aromas. Medium-bodied, it has a crunchy palate with crisp acidity and chalky tannins, a bit drier in the finish. Drink now [till 2029]. Score - 92. (jamessuckling.com, June 6, 2025)
The Tornatore 2022 Etna Bianco Zottorinotto, made with 100% Carricante that undergoes eight months of aging in acacia wood barrel, shows a silky, mid-weight texture. Fruit is harvested from a site located at a cool 700 meters above sea level. This wine opens to a slightly more saturated appearance with golden highlights. It wraps over the palate with silky intensity thanks to the natural richness of the fruit. Drink date: [Now]-2030. Score - 92. (Monica Larner, robertparker.com, April 17, 2025)
Also a pale yellow hue, the 2023 Etna Bianco Pietrarizzo leaps from the glass with fresh Mediterranean character in its notes of fresh sage, fresh peach, flinty stones, and saline. Medium to full-bodied, it has a rounded texture, with a salty and savory crystalline nature ... Drink 2025-2035. Score - 92. (jebdunnuck.com, Oct. 16, 2025)
Tornatore is one of the larger wineries among dozens on the north slope of Mt. Etna. Made from the local carricante grape, this is a hefty yet streamlined white with a complex and well integrated nose of almost tropical guava and olive overlaid with the flinty/smoky aromas of Etna's volcanic soils. Almost peppery as well. It is a full bodied fairly dense and serious white with girth and length. Really solid and well balanced with excellent length. Tasted March 2024. Score - 91.
