Patagonian Malbec brings blackcurrant, black cherry, plum and damson, lifted by mint, spice, coffee, leather and dark chocolate. The texture is smooth and full, with moderate tannins and a smoky finish that feels right with steak, venison, charcuterie or bean chili.
80% Malbec, 20% Touriga Nacional. Enticing floral, plum and mulberry aromas. The palate has ample dark fruits, spice and violet notes, while the ripe, broad tannins manage to convey a sense of stoniness and purity. Stylish wine at a great price. Score - 95. (Decanter World Wine Awards, 2023)
80% Malbec, 20% Cabernet Franc. Lovely floral aromas with a smoky character, notes of blueberry and hints of spices. Really delicious, elegant and refined. Score - 93. (Decanter World Wine Awards, 2023)
Deep, youthful opaque inky colour with distinctive aromatics of cassis, cassis leaf, black cherries, blueberries and brambles. Extraordinary fruit purity coupled with being distinctly varietal. A complete, concentrated, an attractive wine. Argentinian Cabernet Franc Trophy. Score - 96. (International Wine Challenge, 2023)
This is ripe and perfumed with a core of sweet lush berry and dark cherry fruits. Showing a silky texture and nice floral qualities but not lacking in structure, long finish. Mendoza Malbec Trophy, International Malbec Trophy.
This shows plums, cherries and milk chocolate on the nose, plus some orange peel. On the palate it's youthful, juicy and full-bodied, with fine, lightly crunchy tannins. Drink now or hold [into early 2030s]. Score - 92. (Claire Nesbitt, jamessuckling.com, March 18, 2025)
The Alta Yari Gran Malbec Calcáreo is a selection of vineyards planted in 2009 on the Alta Yari property, on the Lomas del Jaboncillo, in Gualtallary. A place characterized by its calcium-rich soils at an altitude of more than 1,500 meters. This is a selection of especially calcareous soils - white and stony soils in a block of about three hectares in this corner of the Andes known as Monasterio. Look for the flowers here, the red fruits that appear on the nose, but above all, for those sharp chalky tannins and that saline note toward the finish. A wine full of character that is also generous in its expression from a place as special as this, in the north of the Uco Valley. For the price, there are few wines with so much personality. Score - 99. (Patricio Tapia, guiadescorchados.cl, 2025)
