From terraced vineyards in Langenlois this gruner was aged on lees four months. It has pretty, polished nose of yellow plum, clover honey, wildflower and subtle pastry. It is medium weight, nicely firm and balanced with very good acidity, structure and richness. Nicely focused with excellent length. Great value. Tasted October 2024. Score - 91. Medium yellow, green hints, silver reflections. An inviting bouquet with a delicate herbal savouriness, subtle notes of yellow pome fruits, hints of nougat and tobacco. Complex and juicy on the palate, with ripe mango, a touch of honeydew melon, fine acidity and a mineral finish. A well developed food wine, full of finesse, with good length and definite further ageing potential. Score - 95. (Peter Moser, falstaff.com, June 24, 2024)

The 'G' stands for the German word 'ganz' (whole) and is a reference to 'ganzes stück': the tradition of using handpicked, whole-bunch (stem included) grapes for fermentation. Quite complex, this wine offers lifted rose notes on the nose, with raspberry, cherry, cranberry, earth, herbs and spice on the palate. It has the potential to develop through 2036.
