Another exciting pinot noir from San Pedro that's one of the best from Chile. Iron, grapefruit, red berries, fine herbs and minerals on the nose. Tight and nicely austere, with a medium to full body and a very chewy finish. I love the tightness of the tannins. Drink from 2026. Score - 94. (Zekun Shuai, jamessuckling.com, April 14, 2025)

Sideral is something of a second wine after Altaïr. They share the same origin, but Sideral is a different selection, which this year is 73% cabernet sauvignon, 11% syrah, 9% carmenere, 4% petit verdot, and 3% cabernet franc. The wine was aged for 16 months in oak barrels, 20% of them new, as well as in 2,000-liter foudres. It's usually released a year before Altaïr, and this year, it's a juicy wine full of aromatic notes and flavors of red fruits and herbs (cabernet franc and carmenere undoubtedly put their signature on this vintage) in a body of firm acidity (very much in tune with a cool season like 2021) and fine, sharp tannins. An elegant and subtle wine that will gain in complexity with another four or five years in the bottle. [This will continue to evolve through mid-2030s.] Score - 95. Lot 5 has been produced since 2016 from the El Granito Vineyard, planted in 2010 on the banks of the Maipo River and very close to the sea (four kilometers away), in an area of gentle slopes with marine terrace soils with gravel on the surface. It was aged for 10 months in a combination of cement and wooden vessels, and the result is deep in flavors of white fruits, along with herbs and some spices. What is most striking is the soft texture, the firm, nervy acidity, and the deep flavors in a white that drinks well now, but that will evolve toward greater complexity with a few years in the bottle. This superb world-class [Pinot Noir] is made with clone 777 sourced from three sub-parcels on different soil types. Rose petal and Turkish delight scents segue into a palate that's vibrant, subtle and refreshing with 35% whole bunches adding texture and spice. Long and well defined, it has layers of succulent raspberry and wild strawberry and subtle oak. Drink date: 2023-2029. Score - 96. (timatkin.com, Chile Special Report 2021)

Altair comes from the stoniest sectors of the vineyard that San Pedro has in the Alto Cachapoal zone, near the foot of the Andes, and from vineyards that are about 20 years old. This vintage's blend is 82% cabernet sauvignon, 9% cabernet franc, 7% syrah, and the rest is carmenere. It was aged (70% barrels and 30% foudres) for about 16 months, and then the varieties were blended and left in foudres for another five months. This is a great step forward in the development of this wine, which has been produced since 2002, in the sense of interpreting a place, especially due to the level of clarity and freshness offered by the fresh and direct fruity aromas and flavors. There are red fruits, there are herbal notes, there are spicy and earthy tones, but most of all, there are ripe fruits that expand on the palate with their freshness and depth. The nose is recognizably carmenere, with herbal notes that add a layer of freshness, behind that, aromas of ripe red fruit and some spices. The palate is brimming with fruit flavors, and this time the herbs are very subtle, like background music. The tannins are smooth and polished and there are light mineral touches towards the finish on the palate. This carmenere is an excellent example of the variety and comes from the Lolol zone, in the western Colchagua Valley. It was aged for a year in barrels. Score - 93.
