The black cherry and blackberry fruit is wrapped in seductive, smoky oak. Though dense and muscular, this is also close to seamless, even at this early stage. The finish is energetic and vibrant, with a long, minerally aftertaste. Best from 2023 through 2043. Score - 96. (Bruce Sanderson, winespectator.com, Oct. 31, 2018)
As hoped for, this is another fantastic example of the special qualities of Moutonne, with great intensity of pear and apple fruit, with a faint tropical edge. Despite the concentration the fruit is pure and the focused acidity keeps the palate fresh and wanting more. The oak is barely noticeable and the wine finishes with a chalky, dry note which adds even more to the appeal. Very, very classy. Drinking window: 2023-2037. Score - 97. (Andy Howard, MW, decanter.com, Dec. 1, 2021)
Impressive winemaking from the Albert Bichot team has produced a classic interpretation of this outstanding premier cru. Serious and deeply coloured, with 50% new wood and 30% whole clusters, it's firm and sappy, with the concentration to age but nothing in the way of rusticity. Drinking window: 2023-2030. Score - 94. (Tim Atkin, MW, decanter.com, Oct. 31, 2018)
From three plots about 60, 30, and 29 years old. Caramel and flowers. Rich and generous up-front, neatly woven with ripe fruit and slicing freshness. A complete and balanced wine, with supple generosity and intensity. Powerful but so elegant, fresh, and sophisticated. Fab. Drink date: 2028-2040. Score - 95. (Sarah Marsh, MW, worldoffinewine.com, Jan. 11, 2024)
A long-established family firm, Bichot's philosophy extends to culture, gastronomy and the arts. The Bichot Chablis shows aromas of candied citrus fruit with subtle floral and mineral notes. It is fresh and lively on the palate, with fresh citrus fruit and mineral flavours. Pair with shellfish, sushi or fried calamari.
Ripe, featuring peach, apple pie and sweet spice aromas and flavors. The acidity is buried beneath the broad, slightly viscous texture, lending softness. Firms up on the compact finish. Drink now through 2028. Score - 89. (Bruce Sanderson, winespectator.com, Sept. 1, 2022)
The shy nose on this wine shows gentle notes of peony over hints of red-cherry fruit. The palate has that same tenderness but then reveals a richer backdrop of ripe, dark cherry. Slight tannins crunch pleasantly while freshness frames all. This wine strikes an easy but elegant balance. Score - 92. (Anne Krebiehl, MW, Wine Enthusiast, Dec. 1, 2020)
Delicious, fresh fruit aromas lead to buttery, toasted almond and baked apple flavors in this medium-bodied blend from up and down the exclusive Cote d'Or appellation. Rich yet balanced, creamy in texture and lingering in the finish. Drink now. Score - 92. (Jim Gordon, jamessuckling.com, June 20, 2024)
A food-friendly chardonnay hailing from M芒con-Villages in Burgundy. Pale lemon with lovely notes of sliced pear, crisp green apple, white flowers, oak, exotic fruits. The medium-bodied and flavourful palate is capped by bright acidity on the refreshingly crisp finish. Pair alongside grilled seafood or enjoy as a starter.
