Although 'Barrica 5' might sound like a crime-fighting syndicate or doo-wop group (or ideally, both), it actually signifies that this Tempranillo was tempered in oak barrels for five months. Look for notions of clove, leather, red berries and tangy plum, and sip with meat pies or hearty stews.

Dark in tint but lucid at the edges, this oak-heavy reserva smells of barrel smoke. An intense palate hits with rough tannins, tasting of savory blackberry backed by potent oak.
