A fine and mineral pinot noir here with a hint of red dates, rose hips and a fine herbal note to the raspberries and red cherries. Bone-dry and elegant on the palate with juicy, bright acidity and crunchy red berries. Tannins are fresh and refined. Clone 777 and dry-farmed. Around 15% of whole clusters. Drink or hold. Score - 95. (Zekun Shuai, jamessuckling.com, Feb. 17, 2023)
This is a full-bodied malbec with aromas of purple plums, blueberries, cocoa and sweet paprika. Deep and velvety with firm, polished tannins. Wonderfully concentrated and focused. Drink from 2025 [into mid-2030s]. Score - 94. (Claire Nesbitt, jamessuckling.com, March 20, 2024)
Very polished malbec with blackberry and orange-peel aromas and flavors. Medium body. Refined tannins. Attractive finish. Drink now [till 2027+]. Score - 94. (jamessuckling.com, April 2, 2020)
Richly fruity and expressive with abundant aromas of lychees and white peaches. Sourced from extremely old vineyards planted at high altitude in Catamarca and Cafayate. Very pleasant on the palate, with bright, juicy fruit that's harmonious and focused. Drink now. Score - 93. (Jacobo Garcia-Andrade Llamas, jamessuckling.com, March 22, 2025)
A pretty ripe nose with some baked plums, cherries and hints of sweet spices and white pepper. Pretty plush and juicy on the medium-bodied palate with a very tight and tense finish. Fine-grained and long. A blend of cabernet sauvignon, malbec and cabernet franc. Better in a year or two. Try in 2025 [and drink to 2030]. Score - 93. (Zekun Shuai, jamessuckling.com, Feb. 21, 2023)
This is really powerful and tightly structured with super depth and compression of fruit on the palate and some phenolic tension. This is made in concrete eggs and large casks. Purity is the word. Drink in 2022, but already superb. [A wine with the potential to delight for a decade from vintage.] Score - 98. (jamessuckling.com, Dec. 4, 2020)
A very fragrant malbec here with lots of crushed blueberries, stones, blue flowers and wild herbs. Lavender and violets. The medium-bodied palate has lots of juicy red and blue fruits. The tension and the chalky tannins are very noticeable on the palate. Really well-balanced. Fantastic value for the money. Delicious now, but can hold very well for five to six years. Score - 93. (Zekun Shuai, jamessuckling.com, Feb. 21, 2023)
Aromas of licorice with blackberries and raspberries. Full-bodied, yet so fine and tight with extremely fine tannins that are polished and gorgeous and just melt in to the wine. Silky texture. Delicious now, but will go on for a long time. Drink or hold. Score - 96. (jamessuckling.com, April 8, 2021)
Kind of a panorama of high-altitude malbec, with its herbal notes and flavors of ripe and succulent black fruits, this comes from two vineyards, one more than 2,000 meters up in Chañar Punco and the other is 1,700 meters above the level of the sea in Cafayate. It's expansive, with sweet flavors and notes of black fruits in a context of very round and friendly tannins. Score - 91. (Patricio Tapia, guiadescorchados.cl, 2021)
