Fresh blackberries, plums, smoked spices, graphite and cocoa powder. So juicy and firm, with fresh, abundant tannins coming from the fruit and spicy oak, but all woven in a fine-grained form, which clearly shows aging potential. Medium- to full-bodied with a very long finish. Try after 2026. Score - 96. (Zekun Shuai, jamessuckling.com, Aug. 8, 2024)
100% Albariño. A showcase of granitic terroir: serious, taut and engaging with a harmony of tangerine riches and a wonderful crisp acidity evoking its origins beautifully. Stunning. Score - 95. (Decanter World Wine Awards, 2024)
Such excellent depth and freshness. Aromas of violets, vivid blueberries, fresh blackberries, hibiscus, graphite and minerals. Really vibrant and juicy, with fresh, filigreed tannins from the fruit. Firm, tense and so polished. Really long finish. Drink or hold [for 25 years from vintage]. Score - 97. (Zekun Shuai, jamessuckling.com, Aug. 8, 2024)
The white 2020 Cune Blanco Reserva was produced with grapes from vines planted in Torremontalvo in 1973 at 400 meters in altitude. The full clusters were pressed and the juice let to settle, then it fermented in concrete, oak vats and barrels and was kept with lees and had bâtonnage. It matured in oak for 18 months. It has 13% alcohol, a low pH of 3.31 and 5.55 grams of acidity. It has a creamy nose with notes of spices and smoke; it's classical old-style Rioja white, with the influence from the élevage. The palate is balanced and fresh, with clean flavors. Drink date: 2024-2029. Score - 92+. (Luis Gutiérrez, robertparker.com, Feb. 29, 2024)
Excellent, benchmark-quality Rioja crianza that shows the spicy side of the vintage. Peppery, juicy and bright, with a medium body and a nice chew of fine-grained tannins. Quite long. A smart buy. Drink or hold [into the mid-2030s]. Score - 93. (jamessuckling.com, Aug. 8, 2024)
