Situated west of St. Catharines and the Welland Canal, the West Niagara appellation encompasses Beamsville Bench, Twenty Mile Bench, Short Hills Bench, Lincoln Lakeshore, Creek Shores and Vinemount Ridge. This wine blends fruit from a handful of renowned vineyards to create an elegant, mineral-laced Chardonnay with notions of lemon drop, ripe pear, pineapple and melon.
Made from 100% Chardonnay, this bubbly spent five years ageing on the lees in barrel, imparting beautiful richness and depth. It evokes late-autumn apple, ripe pear, toasted macadamia nut, and a touch of citrus. This is the winery's flagship red, a blend of 32% Cabernet Franc, 31% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 6.5% Petit Verdot and 5.5% Malbec. The wine was aged 16 months in French oak barrels (35% new, 20% one-year old and 45% neutral. The wine begins with aromas of cassis, dark cherries and cedar.
