Mainly a blend of 2 vineyards: Block 12 and Old Block, with a small parcel of Weightmans Block 5. Vinified separately, matured in oak for 18 months. Having stood in all 3 source vineyards, each component is clear in this wine: density from the Old Block, suppleness from the Block 12 and red fruits and brine from the Weightmans Block. Savoury, long, fine-knit and of supreme elegance. It's not intense cabernet, but it is persistent and very long. Drink by: 2041. Score - 96. (Erin Larkin, winecompanion.com.au, Aug. 13, 2021)
This is a new wine, and is a blend of cabernet and merlot. I do like its structure and poise which reflects the way the wine has been assembled. Leafy tobacco and black olive nuances overlay the deeper plummy blackcurrant of the two varieties. Has that distinctive graphite of oyster shell character you get in these southern cabs. Impressive and expressive. Cellar: 12 years. Score - 95. (Ray Jordan, West Australian Wine Guide, 2021)
This is a very smart wine from a vintage which evolved into something pretty good. Bright red fruits on the nose with traces of dried herbs complementing the perfume. The colour is quite brilliant with red and crimson hues. The palate is more about savoury dried herbs. Has plenty of oak and powerful fruit. This still used Barossa clones in the main which have been gradually replaced. It was made in a more traditional manner. It's bright and alive with so much energy in the palate. A slightly chalky tannin dominance impacts the finish. Cellar 10 years. Score - 94. (Ray Jordan, rayjordanwine.com.au, undated)
One of the better chenin blancs from Voyager Estate to date as it has flavour and richness but stays neatly in the dry spectrum. Poached pears and quince, lemon balm and lime curd with an intriguing waft of lanolin and the tug of phenolics add to the palate's shape. There's refreshment throughout but also depth. Lovely. Drink by: 2026. Special Value. Score - 93. (Jane Faulkner, winecompanion.com.au, Oct. 8, 2023)
Moreish and bright with a lip-smacking tropical profile. Notes of fresh-cut pineapple, lime zest, and grass are expertly balanced on the palate with a touch of gunflint on the finish. Beautifully textured with a long finish leads to a well-crafted wine. [Drink through 2028.] Score - 95. (International Wine & Spirit Competition, 2023)
