This Bordeaux blend pours deep ruby with forward aromas and flavours of ripe blackberry, mulberry, and spice. Full-bodied and dry with a long-lasting finish. Pairs nicely with a rack of lamb or charcuterie.

This is the sister wine to Magnotta's Starlight Gold Sparkling and, as with all Venture Series wines, a portion of the proceeds from each bottle sold is donated to support Lyme disease research. The Moonlight Sparkling, which is a blend of primarily Vidal with Vidal Icewine, will be fresh and crisp, with a fine acidity and balance. Pair with fruity desserts.

Bold nose of cranberries with balsamic cherry and plum notes. The palate is just as intense with black pepper and a creamy, luscious texture. An interesting example of the style. Score - 94. (International Wine & Spirit Competition, 2024)

Enotrium is an appasimento-style wine where grapes are hand-harvested and then air-dried over a period of 4 weeks, resulting in concentrated aromas of dark fruit with notes of vanilla, cinnamon, cloves and pepper. Rich and mouth-filling flavours with good structure and balance of fruit, acidity and tannin.

A nose of ulterior style leading to different sort of reactions though the palate is much more classic, standard and expected. Reserved and limited and then exuberant, forceful, heavy steel reinforced. Really attacks the sides of the mouth upwards to the upper wisdom corners and pineapple is everywhere. Old school, white fleshed and high acid. 194 g/L of RS and 10 percent abv. Last tasted January 2023. [Awarded Gold at the 2022 National Wine Awards of Canada.] Score - 93. Expect the Pinot2 (a blend of Pinot Grigio and Pinot Noir) to suggest tangy strawberry notes in a lithe, approachable frame. Look for a refreshing, easy-to-enjoy wine that will be a pleasing sipper or a nice match for grilled chicken. A portion of proceeds from each bottle sold supports the G. Magnotta Lyme Disease Research Lab at the University of Guelph.

[This is not the same lot number reviewed by Craig Pinhey, but it will reflect comparable character and quality.] Nice, although subtle, autolytic lees note, typical of Charmat method, along with citrus and a hint of apple. The Equus Series from Magnotta Winery celebrates the founder, Gabe Magnotta, his love of horses, art, and his passion for Ontario wine. This lively blend reveals aromas of citrus fruit with nutty and herbal notes. The palate is zesty and fresh. Sip on its own or pair it with mildly spiced dishes.

The G. Marquis vineyard in Niagara-on-the-Lake is home to carefully tended Pinot vines that were planted in 1994. This wine offers complex notes of dark fruit, chocolate, floral notes, earth and black olive. Elegant and structured, it's a good match for mushroom risotto.
