Stacks of wild herb character and wet stone freshness make this an exciting riesling Kabinett in which the natural grape sweetness is barely perceptible. Only light-bodied, but with excellent concentration and a long, salty and stony finish, this is a remarkable expression of this great Mosel vineyard site. Drink or hold [for another 20-25 years]. Score - 95. (Stuart Pigott, jamessuckling.com, Aug. 29, 2024)
The 2019 Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese is very clear and intense, provided with very fine raisin and flinty aromas. Lush and crystalline on the palate, this is a salty-piquant, juicy and razor-sharp yet delicate Auslese with great finesse and precision. A highly promising wine. Drink date: 2030-2070. Score - 95. (Stephan Reinhardt, robertparker.com, Oct. 30, 2020)
The 2021er Graacher Domprobst Riesling Spätlese was fermented down to sweet levels of residual sugar. It offers a most attractive and beautifully complex nose of thyme, rosemary, cassis, white and yellow flowers, white pepper, lavender, blueberry, and herbs. The wine has huge energy and complexity on the palate and leaves a gorgeous and playful long finish. The after-taste is breathtaking with animating zest, precision, and airiness. This is a stunning Spätlese! Drink date: 2031-2051. Score - 96. (Jean Fisch & David Rayer, moselfinewines.com, undated)
The 2018 Zeltinger Schlossberg Riesling Spätlese feinherb 'Alte Reben' is intense and lush yet refined, elegant and flinty on the nose. Round and lush on the palate, this is an impressive, perfectly round and charming Riesling with remarkable harmony and complexity and a long, crystalline, elegant, fresh and nervy-mineral finish. Fabulous. Drink date: 2020-2050. Score - 94. (Stephan Reinhardt, robertparker.com, Oct. 30, 2020)
The 2019 Bernkastler Badstube Riesling Auslese * is deep and concentrated on the still reductive, flinty and stony nose. Piquant, racy, dense and rich on the palate, this is a laser-sharp, salty-piquant and crunchy Auslese with concentrated lemon chutney notes and lingering salinity and grip. It is stunningly precise and like an ice wine because everything is concentrated due to the perfectly clear and clean botrytis. Drink date: 2030-2070. Score - 96. (Stephan Reinhardt, robertparker.com, Oct. 30, 2020)
The 2016 Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese * (AP 25 17) has an intense and flinty bouquet of perfectly ripe, concentrated Riesling berries and wet dark slate aromas - some honey notes here as well. On the palate, this is creamy-textured, rich and lush. This is a very sensual wine based on partly botrytized berries. Drink date: 2025-2050. Score - 93. (Stephan Reinhardt, robertparker.com, April 27, 2018)
The 2019 Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese is pure, intense and flinty on the perfectly ripe nose that reveals raisins and crunchy slate aromas and, again, represents the great terroir of the ZSU. The finish is very dense, long and intense but by no means fat or clumsy. This has piquancy, salinity and enormous grip. Drink date: 2025-2060. Score - 94. (Stephan Reinhardt, robertparker.com, Oct. 30, 2020)
The 2016 Zeltinger Schlossberg Riesling Spätlese (AP 19 17) opens with its typical coolish-flinty and spicy bouquet that indicates a lovely ripeness and transparency. On the palate, this is an enormously lush, piquant and salty Schlossberg with grip, salt and tension. Extremely dangerous since you probably cannot stop drinking once you have started. Drink date: 2018-2043. Score - 93. (Stephan Reinhardt, robertparker.com, April 27, 2018)
From vines planted in 2013, this is a dry, ripe, tense wine, with sharply defined freshness and a crushed-stone minerality. Floral, lively and pure, this Gewürztraminer will cellar gracefully and elegantly into the early-to-mid-2030s.
