Deeply coloured and very fruity on the nose, with appealing black cherry and plummy notes leading, the Bolzano cooperative delivers another solid value here from this native red variety. It's soft and low in tannins per the textbook profile, while acids are comfortably ripe. I like the plump, juicy fruit on the palate, ripe but still fresh, and the lingering finish. Nicely done. Made from fruit grown at high elevations around Bolzano, this Chardonnay offers tangy mango and honeydew melon with hints of honeysuckle and orange blossoms. Pair with seafood or veggie dishes.

Blauburgunder is a synonym for pinot noir used in Germanic areas of central Europe, including northern Italy. This is a lovely fragrant example with lifted, perfumed red rose, classic pinot cherry, tobacco and lightly spicy notes.
