The 2018 Riesling Clos Ste Hune is deep and intense on the very generous yet refined and elegant, rich and lemon-scented nose that indicates enormous richness. It's very harmonious. Full-bodied, very intense and concentrated yet also vital and full of tension, this is a very rich and powerful yet elegant and utterly mineral CSH that combines great finesse and salinity with power and substance. This is a giant. 14.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in April 2024. Drink date: 2030-2090. Score - 99+. (Stephan Reinhardt, robertparker.com, Jan. 2, 2025)
For the very hot year this has extraordinary vitality and is diamond-bright! A bit richer and more compact on the full-bodied palate than the crystalline nose suggested. I love the lemon-grass and dried-sage character and lemon-peel freshness. Incredibly long and complete finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold. Score - 98. (Stuart Pigott, jamessuckling.com, Dec. 30, 2024)
Pale yellow with golden tinges. Musky yellow fruits, smoke and honey on a ripe nose clearly marked by elements of passerillage (air-dried grapes). Ripe and full, this is a bigger, richer and riper Seigneurs de Ribeaupierre than usual, but still finishes classically dry despite having an almost Vendanges Tardiveslike quality. All estate-grown grapes from famous Alsace vineyard sites such as, among others, the Mandelberg, Muhlforst, Trottacker, Gruenspiel, and Altenberg de Bergheim. Drinking window: 2022-2029. Score - 91. (Ian D'Agata, vinous.com, April 19, 2018)
So much mineral and sliced apple character with hints of orange and apple peel. Turns to steely character. Full-bodied, racy and bright. So lively. Great finish. Score - 96. (jamessuckling.com, Sept. 25, 2015)
Tart lemon has an edge of softness reminiscent of a fresh Mirabelle tart. The palate of this wine majors on bright lemon juiciness with mouthwatering efficiency. For now, the wine is tight, clenched and needs to come out of its shell and share its stony secrets. It offers wonderful concentration, poise and a bone-dry finish. Drink date: 2025-2045. Cellar Selection. Score - 97. (Anne Krebiehl, MW, Wine Enthusiast, May 1, 2020)
Assembled in the very best plots of the domaine and made only in great vintages, Trimbach's bright-colored 2017 Pinot Gris Réserve Personnelle opens with a clear, fresh and aromatic bouquet of fully ripe white fruit with hints of caramel. Mouth-filling and round on the palate, this is a complex and vivaciously mineral Pinot Gris with stimulating grip and tension on the long and powerful yet also elegant, persistently saline and lemony finish. This is a superb Pinot Gris that luckily did not ferment to fully dry but to remarkable balance. This is a great Alsace Pinot Gris to be served with lobster, poultry or white meats. Natural cork. Tasted in January 2023. Drink date: 2023-2035. Score - 95. (Stephan Reinhardt, robertparker.com, March 9, 2023)
Only a hint of freshly cut, ripe pear peel appears briefly on the nose of this wine. The palate presents a precise picture of concentrated ripe, green pear that comes with purity, precision and restraint. All the fruit is there, but rather than rounding out, it soars with freshness, which is a real achievement in 2018. The finish is dry and vivid. Score - 92. (Anne Krebiehl, MW, Wine Enthusiast, Oct. 1, 2020)
Already on the nose this has a terrific interplay of stone fruit and herbal freshness with a tantalizing touch of spices. You feel the power and concentration of Alsace dry riesling from a warm, dry vintage, but also a wonderful citrusy freshness. A delicate chalky minerality echoes through the very long finish. 100% from estate vineyards in Ribeauville and Bergheim. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold. Score - 94. (jamessuckling.com, May 30, 2024)
The wide spectrum of citrus, crisp pear and stone fruit aromas announces a remarkable achievement for an entry-level wine. Excellent depth on the racy, medium-bodied palate where the chalky minerality beautifully counterpoints the cool fruit. Crisp, long finish with so much vitality. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold [into the early 2030s]. Score - 92. (Stuart Pigott, jamessuckling.com, May 30, 2024)
