Super nose of lime, roasted fennel seeds and stony minerals, following through to an intense, medium-bodied palate that's overflowing with tight citrus and mineral flavors. In fact, every inch of flavor has been squeezed out of the grapes here and I don't remember a verdicchio with such length. Plenty of acidity pushing it along. Very precisely done and irresistible. This is a limited-edition late release, the grapes coming from old vines in the Montecarotto area of the Verdicchio Classico zone. Something special here. Enjoy now. Score - 94. A super-Marche made from montepulciano, merlot and cabernet sauvignon, first produced in 1997, this is a sumptuous, ripe and concentrated red wine, chewy and dark, with significant wood influence, high quality and ultimately well-integrated. Tannins are grippy and grainy, not yet fully integrated, while length and depth are very good. Try again after 2025. Tasted April 2024. Score - 92. (John Szabo, MS, winealign.com)
From an iconic family estate, this wine is crafted with 100% Verdicchio grown at high altitudes in prestigious east-facing hillside vineyards near the picturesque village of Cupramontana. Vinification takes place 60% in stainless steel and 40% in oak casks, with full malolactic conversion. The blended wine is then aged for six months in bottle. It's gloriously evocative of juicy white peach, pear, citrus zest and almond.
This Pecorino is a bright, modern Italian white with lemon, lime, pear, yellow apple and melon at its core. Salinity, stone, herbs and a faint nutty or yeasty hint bring extra texture. It finishes refreshing and dry, with enough acidity for raw fish, salads or spicy food.
Plenty of floral and mild cheese-rind character to the ripe fruit on the nose. Hint of mild spice, too. Medium-bodied with a dense, fruity core and a touch of phenolic tightness in the long finish. Traces of white pepper in the aftertaste. From organically grown grapes. A distinct, flavorful white. Drink now [through 2028]. Score - 92. (jamessuckling.com, June 18, 2025)
A vivid, bright and textured red, showing aromas of dark cherries, blueberries and mild spices. It's medium-bodied with finely grained tannins. Juicy crushed-berry character at the center with a delicious stream of sour cherries and a flavorful finish with excellent length. Drink or hold [through 2028+]. Score - 92.
