Restrained, vibrant and fruity riserva with red cherries and raspberries, potpourri and even incense. Medium- to full-bodied with leafy flavor, velvety and ripe tannins yet chewy acidity and a chalky finish. Good blood-orange aftertaste. Better in two or three years but already so delicious. Score - 96. (jamessuckling.com, Dec. 11, 2024)
A bright red with firm, integrated tannins that provide length and focus. It's medium-bodied with citrus and berry character and excellent length. I like it now, but give it two or three years to show its full potential. Same quality as 2019? Best after 2027. Score - 95. (jamessuckling.com, Sept. 24, 2024)
This Tuscan blend is dark-fruited and polished, showing plum, blackberry, cherry and dried fruit alongside leather, tobacco, cedar, vanilla, balsamic and cocoa. It has a dry, chewy feel with brisk acidity and noticeable tannin, landing squarely in a savoury pasta-or-steak register.
Simple, fresh sour cherries and some stones to the nose. Medium-bodied and crunchy on the palate with a fresh fruit core and an approachable finish. Drink now [through 2028]. Score - 89. (Zoltan Szabo, jamessuckling.com, Sept. 2, 2023)
Attractive nose of dark cherries, cocoa and hints of walnuts and dark spices. Medium-bodied, juicy and fine textured, with polished tannins. Fresh and balanced. Drink now. Score - 90. (jamessuckling.com, July 22, 2024)
