The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Generations is one of the flagship releases and comes from three vineyards, two in St. Helena and one in Oakville. It's 100% Cabernet and was raised in 59% new French oak. This richly textured, full-bodied, ripe, perfectly balanced 2019 gives up lots of darker currant fruits and notes of spice and green tobacco, with background oak and ultra-fine tannins. The balance is spot on, and this is another beautiful, layered, compelling Cabernet Sauvignon from winemaker Stephanie Putnam. Maturity: 2022-2037. Score - 97. (jebdunnuck.com, March 10, 2022)
Unlike the other wines in the District Collection series, Raymond's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon District Collection Rutherford comes largely from the winery's home estate. Mocha and cedar accent black cherries on the nose, while the full-bodied palate is framed by softly dusty tannins that give the wine focus and length on the finish. Drink date: 2022-2040. Score - 94. (Joe Czerwinski, robertparker.com, March 31, 2023)
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon District Collection Rutherford is another gem that has the charming, already approachable style that's common from wines from Raymond, yet it also shines for its balance, mid-palate depth, and length on the finish. Lots of textbook Cabernet tobacco, earth, cassis, and spice notes emerge from the glass, and it's another head-turning wine in the lineup that can be drunk today yet also cellared for 15 years or more. Maturity: 2021-2038. Score - 95. (jebdunnuck.com, Jan. 27, 2021)
A velvety, seamless texture and subtly layered fruit, spice and cream flavors make this rich and full-bodied wine practically irresistible. Generous red and black cherries, dark plums, light vanilla and nutmeg accents fill out the expansive frame of this luxurious wine. Best: [Now]-2030. Score - 93. (Jim Gordon, Wine Enthusiast, April 1, 2023)
From a challenging year that demanded careful selection, this ripe wine has black fruit, cassis, cedar, lifted notes of mint, earth, and savoury herb undertones. Firm and fine with good ageing potential. Hold for another year or two and then drink into the mid-to-late 2030s.
Made of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in 35% new French oak, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford District Collection was bottled unfined and unfiltered and has a deep garnet-purple color. It gives those classic Rutherford dusty earth, stewed tea and sautéed herbs character over cassis, warm plums and blackberry preserves with loads of savory charcuterie and tapenade-inspired nuances. Medium-bodied, the palate has beautiful restraint with lots of earthy sparks and wonderfully rugged tannins, finishing long and mineral laced. Drink date: 2019-2038. Score - 94. (Lisa Perrotti-Brown, MW, robertparker.com, Oct. 31, 2019)
Coming from the southwest side of St. Helena, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon District Collection St Helena (100% Cabernet aged in 59% new French oak) is another classic, great 2018 that reveals a deep purple color as well as lots of cassis and darker currant fruits, full-bodied richness, building yet polished tannins, and complex notes of dried earth, tobacco, and roasted coffee. As with many 2018s, the purity of fruit is top-notch. This will benefit from short-term cellaring and evolve for 20 years or so. Maturity: 2022-2044. Score - 94+. (jebdunnuck.com, Jan. 27, 2021)
This Cabernet is sourced from two prime sites in Napa Valley: one in the centre of St. Helena and the other on the eastern side of Howell Mountain. Rich, ripe and powerful with broad shoulders, this wine has wonderful depth and complexity, red and dark fruit, cassis, baking spices, coffee and spice. A wine for a great rib-eye steak. Enjoy through 2029.
This exceptional Chardonnay interplays classic French style with the rich Californian flavour profile. On the nose, fresh fig, honey and pear aromas are complemented by subtle floral and mineral notes. The palate is medium-bodied, with a slightly creamy texture and apple, honey, and dried fruit flavours.
